“Huh. You’ve read The Secret?” I asked, surprised.

He grinned sheepishly. “Well, yeah. Sounded interesting the way the guys were talking about it. Jed said it helped us win the championships.”

I forced a laugh. “Yeah, the other team’s probably thinking about how bogus the whole think-positive-and-you’ll-win bullshit is.”

He laughed his deep, warm chuckle.

In my head, his flight gets cancelled and I’m speaking into the same laptop mic, saying Merry Christmas into the built-in camera. I play it over and over and over again.

Blogging for Myself

It's been almost a year since I last updated my personal blog. This time last year, I was preparing for my internship at Seventeen. Now that I've graduated from college, I'm hella scared and excited at the same time to discover what comes next.

OJT has been alattafan! LOL. Learned to tweak my writing style a little bit for the Seventeen blog. Check out Seventeen Magazine's Multiply account to see what I'm talking about. Back to Work!

I've had way too many days off waiting around for and getting nervous about my internship application. Good thing I finally got my second interview last week and was able to work right away. I don't know if I can blog as often here and on The CityLifeStylist, but part of my job is updating the blog site of the magazine I'm working for. I'll post the URL as soon as we get it updated!

Sweet Dreams are Made of Cupcakes and Krispy Kremes

I already shared my dream about chocolate banana cupcakes, and guess what? It became a recurring dream. It was on and off for a while until a couple of nights ago when I dreamt of doughnuts--lots and lots of them! Maybe it was because I wanted to go to the new Krispy Kreme branch opening the previous day. Then again, it's weird how I've been dreaming about all these scrumptious, mouthwatering baked goodies. Haha.


I don't really believe in dream interpretations but I looked it up online just for the heck of it. According to www.thejourneyofdreams.com, a dream about desserts such as baked goods and ice cream may "indicate the good things in life. Something special may be happening or will happen, such as a reward, gift [or] treat. [It] can also represent temptation."


I bet my dreams represent temptation--temptation to eat baked goods! Thank goodness it's already Monday. I'm getting the cupcakes I ordered from my classmate already. Haha.


I didn't even like cakes and doughnuts when I was a kid. Strange. I better keep going with Hip Hop Abs if I still want my clothes to fit by the end of the summer.
